Zeiss Batis 85 mm F1.8 Sonnar T*
|Focal length||85 mm|
|Filter thread||67 mm|
A bright-aperture short telephoto-lens for Sony FE full-frame system. The lens contains 11 elements in 8 groups. With 1.8 maximum aperture and 85mm focal-length this is a good lens for portraiture. This lens has an optical image stabilization, which is not so common for the given focal-length.
This lens is compactly-sized and well-balanced with the Sony A7-series camera bodies. It produces sharp results and the autofocus is fast and accurate. There certainly are other similar lenses with more appealing bokeh (to my eye) but this is really a subjective thing.
As a completely irrelevant side-note, I find this lens itself being probably the most prettiest lens I've ever seen - apart from the 1.8/85 marking with an ugly font on the lens-hood.
